Cub Scout Pack 49 was founded in 1982 to serve the youth of Austin, Texas. From outdoor adventures that connect our Cub Scouts with nature to service projects that connect them to their communities, we encourage our Cub Scouts to make friends, be helpful to others, and do their very best no matter the outcome. Chartered by Faith Lutheran Church in the Brentwood neighborhood, we are open to boys and girls from across the city.
Pack 49 consists of around 75 Cub Scouts divided by grade level into units called Dens. These Dens, which are generally around 10 scouts, meet twice per month to work on Adventures that move them towards earning their designated rank. The entire Pack (i.e., Kindergarten through 5th Grade) meets once per month for a Pack meeting, which may include guest speakers, craft projects, awards ceremonies, and more.
As a Pack we go on at least two weekend camp outs per year and one overnight. Additionally, we host an annual Pinewood Derby and Raingutter Regatta.
